There is only one outstanding challenge for bike riders in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: The mountainous landscape requires some fitness to leave the urban area per bicycle. Except the 10 kilometer long and total flat ride along the port side of the city all other routes are hilly with minimum climbs of 300 meters on a smaller tour. Popular bicycle tours to the Bandama Crater or to the ancient village of Teror require a total climb of arround 600 meters, while reaching the highest mountain “Pico de las Nieves” demands more than 2000 meters gain.
E-Bikes are a very enjoyable help when your planned route is too demanding for you or your biking-partner or if you just not want to overexert yourself or your companion.
