Road Bike rental in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – hire KTM Road Race bikes or Gravel bikes

Our selection of road bikes and gravel bikes at our Las Palmas Bikestation 24 is tailored to the mountainous landscape of Gran Canaria, where long flat stretches are a rare exception. That’s why we offer endurance frames for road bikes and gravel bikes.

The most in-demand road bike models here on Gran Canaria are our endurance road bikes, the KTM Revelator Sky — carbon frame road bikes equipped with either a Shimano Ultegra or Shimano 105 groupset with hydraulic disc brakes. For even smaller gear ratios and stronger braking power, we offer the KTM X-STRADA 10 gravel bikes.

Since we cater to a broad audience, all our road bikes are equipped with a compact crankset (50/34) combined with an 11-34 cassette. The gravel bikes feature a 46/30 crankset and an 11-34 cassette, making them even better suited for steep climbs. Our road and gravel bikes come standard with two bottle cages and a lightweight emergency air pump.

Also included in the bike rental price: a spare tube with tire levers, a helmet, and pedals of your choice. We offer Shimano SPD, SPD SL, and LOOK Keo pedals, as well as standard flat pedals.

KTM X-STRADA 10 Gravelbike rental

Our KTM X-STRADA 10 features a lightweight orange-black aluminum frame with a carbon fork and is equipped with a Shimano GRX 11-speed groupset. The 46/30 crankset and 11/34 cassette at the rear allow for even steeper climbs, while the 180mm disc brakes provide enhanced performance on steep descents. The 40mm wide gravel tires offer greater comfort on occasionally rough asphalt surfaces compared to 28mm road bike tires.

Gravel bikes are not suitable for off-road riding on Gran Canaria!

We explicitly do not rent out our gravel bikes for off-road use. The unpaved gravel roads here are not comparable to the terrain conditions in Central Europe: gravel bikes are not designed for hard rock formations, sharp, coarse volcanic gravel, cactus needles, and other obstacles. Riding on local off-road trails is only permitted with our mountain bikes.

Road Bike Routes arround Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Only the the 10 km long bike lane along the Port of Las Palmas is a flat section – all other road bike routes demand some fitness for climbs of at least 600 meters to the Village of Terror or the Bandama Crater as popular waypoints. The very skilled riders reach the highest mountain Pico de las Nieves with 1950 m in arround 3 hours. There are generally 3 main routes leading out of the city of Las Palmas:

  • climb up from old town Vegueta to Tafira
  • climb up from west end Guanarteme to Las Torres and Tamaraceite
  • leaving the City on the GC-2 highway westwards along the north coast

Take our road bike routes posted on the Komoot App as inspiration how to get out of the city and which tours are recomendable.
